He was born in Tragjas of Vlor\u00eb. Embracing communist ideas, he became a member of the Albanian Communist Party immediately after its founding. He was appointed secretary of the Regional Committee of the Albanian Communist Party for Durr\u00ebs (1942). A fighter in the guerrilla units of Durr\u00ebs, he organized and participated in numerous attacks and actions against the occupiers.
