In Vienna, Nikoll\u00eb Ka\u00e7orri, patriotic cleric and activist of the National Renaissance, passed away. He attended school in Shkodra and continued his theological studies in Italy. In 1893, he was appointed a parish priest in Durr\u00ebs, where he served for 20 years. He participated in the national political and cultural movement from a young age. He became associated with Father Shtjef\u00ebn Gje\u00e7ovi, who served in La\u00e7 (Sebaste) of Kurbini from 1899 to 1905. This period marked the beginning of their national political-cultural activity. Nikoll\u00eb Ka\u00e7orri, under Gje\u00e7ovi’s influence, collected folk songs from Central and Northern Albania, and even from Kosovo, in a volume titled “Canti albanesi popolari” (“Albanian Folk Songs”). This manuscript contains 49 epic folk songs with diverse themes. He established collaborative relationships with patriotic circles in Tirana, Mat, Dibra, Durr\u00ebs, Mal\u00ebsia e Mbishkodra, and Kosovo. He regularly corresponded with Ismail Qemali, Abdi Toptani, and Sali Nivica. He participated in the Congress of Monastir (1908) and Elbasan (1909). In 1909, he became an initiator of the patriotic club “Bashkimi” in Durr\u00ebs. He participated in the General Uprising of 1912 as one of the main leaders of the uprising committee in Kruja (under the pseudonym “Kunora”). He collaborated in the uprising movement in the Catholic regions of Kosovo, Mal\u00ebsia e Mbishkodra, and the Mirdita area. For this activity, he was arrested by the Ottoman authorities and sentenced to imprisonment. He was a representative (delegate) of the Durr\u00ebs region in the National Assembly of Vlor\u00eb (1912), which declared the Independence of Albania. The Assembly elected him as the Vice Chairman of the Provisional Government, led by Ismail Qemali. In 1914, he left Albania. He was decorated with the “Gjergj Kastrioti Sk\u00ebnderbeu” Order.
