On April 23, 1969<\/strong>, in Fier, the church of St. George, built in 1782 and operational until February 6, 1969, was demolished as a result of an atheist campaign for the prohibition of religion undertaken by the government of the time. After the destruction, a part of the objects, books and items of its use were taken into custody by the Fier Historical Museum and today are on display in its premises. Exhibited in the iconography pavilion of the museum, the inscriptions belong to the door and iconostasis of the former church of Saint George.
