He studied as an autodidact and distinguished himself as an activist of today&#8217;s cultural and intellectual movement of the Arb\u00ebresh of Italy; he contributed to the advancement of teaching Albanian in the Arb\u00ebresh settlements. Together with Carmine Stamile, he also published an extensive study entitled <i>\u201cSprov\u00eb didaktike n\u00eb nj\u00eb mjedis dygjuh\u00ebsh Arb\u00ebresh\u201d <\/i>(<i>\u201cDidactic experiment in a bilingual Arb\u00ebresh environment\u201d<\/i>) (1979), where the right of Arb\u00ebresh people to preserve their mother tongue and teach it in their schools is argued. Carmelo Candreva\u2019s poetry stands out for its patriotic themes and freshness of inspiration. He published the poetic volumes: <i>\u201cShpirti i Arb\u00ebrit rron\u201d<\/i> (<i>\u201cThe spirit of Arb\u00ebr lives on\u201d<\/i>)<i> <\/i>(1976), <i>\u201cShpirti i Arb\u00ebrit rron, Arb\u00ebreshi tregon\u201d<\/i> <i>(\u201cThe spirit of Arb\u00ebr lives, the Arb\u00ebresh tells\u201d<\/i>), II (1977) and <i>\u201cShpirti i Arb\u00ebrit rron, vuan dega e hershme\u201d<\/i> (<i>\u201cThe spirit of the Arb\u00ebresh lives on, the early branch suffers\u201d<\/i>), III (1979).
