Anton Harapi, cleric and political activist, was executed by firing squad in Tirana. He was born in Shirok\u00eb, Shkodra. He studied theology and philosophy in Hungary. In 1910, a teacher at the Kolegji i Fret\u00ebnve (Shkod\u00ebr). He then served in Mal\u00ebsia e Madhe as a parish priest (1918\u20131919). In 1925, he published the first book in the field of pedagogy, entitled \u201cEdukata ose mir\u00ebrritja e f\u00ebmij\u00ebve\u201d, an adaptation of the principles of world pedagogy for Albanian children. In the years 1921-1924, he took part in political activities. He was one of the leaders of the organization “Ora e Maleve” and director of the newspaper with the same name. He participated in the democratic opposition wing (1923\u20131924) and was arrested and imprisoned several times. After the occupation of Albania by Fascist Italy, he became a member of the Constitutional Assembly of April 12, 1939. Leader of the Franciscans (1941\u20131943). After the liberation, he was arrested, sentenced to death by a Special Trial, as a collaborator of fascism and shot. (In the photo: Father Anton Harapi)<\/i><\/p>\n
