The first issue of the newspaper “Shkupi” (“Skopje”) was published in 1911-1912 in Skopje, marking it as the only publication in the Albanian language within the Province of Kosovo and the first newspaper to emerge in the territories of Kosovo and Macedonia. Directed by the revivalist and publicist Jashar Erebara, “Shkupi” played a significant role in affirming the Albanian cause for full independence.
