The first issue of the newspaper “Dashamiri” (1907-1908), a biweekly political, social, cultural, economic and literary newspaper, was published in Trieste (Italy). 8 issues were published, but from May 6 to August 6, 1908, it was published under the title “Dashamiri i ri” (6 issues). Both newspapers were directed by Mati Logoreci. The newspaper “Dashamiri” reflected the events of the day in Albania, Austria, Italy and other European and Balkan countries; supported the idea of Albania’s autonomy within the framework of the Ottoman Empire; opposed the chauvinistic aims of the neighboring Balkan kingdoms; raised the issues of cultural, economic and political development of the country and the spread of the Albanian language and schools in all Albanian territories.
