In Gërmenj of Kavaja, Maliq Muço (1922–1944), a participant in the National Liberation Antifascist War, Hero of the People, was killed in the fight against the collaborators of fascism. He was born in Tragjas of Vlorë. Embracing communist ideas, he became a member of the Albanian Communist Party immediately after its founding. He was appointed secretary of the Regional Committee of the Albanian Communist Party for Durrës (1942). A fighter in the guerrilla units of Durrës, he organized and participated in numerous attacks and actions against the occupiers. He served as battalion commissar in the Peza Partisan Group (1944), participating in many battles. (In the photo: Malik Muço)
