The Arbëresh Ethnographic Museum

Lexo ngjarje:

The Arbëresh Ethnographic Museum was inaugurated in the village of Çifti (it. Civita) in Calabria. For the first five years, the museum was housed in the “Zuccaro” house, a typical building in the city’s historic center. In 1994, the museum was transferred to the building of the former town hall of the village of Çifti, renovated according to a project of a museum structure. The museum consists of different sections related to the linguistic minority of Arbëresh. An ethnographic section refers to the territory of Arbëresh. In addition to traditional Arbëresh clothing, which have been worn for centuries, there are also agricultural tools, household furniture and family photos of Arbëresh personalities. The museum today represents a cultural reality and a reference point for studies and research as the preserver of the characteristics of the Italo-Albanian tradition of the Couple community. The museum aims to provide free entry to visitors, with no profit motive. (In the photo: External view of the Arbëresh Ethnographic Museum.)
