Over 3000 citizens left Albania and boarded the ship “Tirana” to head towards the neighbor across the Adriatic. With the fall of the dictatorship, motivated by the regained freedom, Albanians turned in search of the dream world from the TV screen to secure the missing well-being. The escapes during the first week of March 1991 were of great proportions. Also, the massive abandonment of the country mobilized the political elite of the time to take the necessary measures to prevent the flow of immigrants.
