Lexo ngjarje:

The law “Mbi ndalimin e mbulesës së gruas” (“On banning women’s veil”) was adopted, according to which offenders were fined up to 500 gold francs. The law also provided for other penalties on husbands, fathers, etc. Albanian women and girls did not have to cover their faces when they went public and in the city. This law was preceded by the organization of the extraordinary meeting of the General Council of the Muslim Community, on March 1, 1937, which unanimously supported the abolition of the women’s veil, an initiative of Ahmet Zogu.
