Skopje was liberated from the units of the League of Prizren commanded by Sulejman Vokshi. In the meantime, the other cities of the Kosova vilayet, such as Peja, Ferizaj, Vuçiterna, etc., joined the provisional government. High Turkish officials were expelled from all these centers where the authority of the League was established. The weak Turkish garrisons were forced to close in on certain points, from which they could not leave without first surrendering their arms. The forces of the Albanian League occupied the railway bridges, in order to prevent the arrival of the Ottoman military reinforcements. The train company, based in Skopje, was ordered not to transport troops and ammunition for the Turkish army. (In the photo: City of Skopje, XIX century.)
