Began to be published in Lamia, Greece the “Pellazgu” (“The Pelasgian”) newspaper. This newspaper was one of the earliest organs of the Albanian press. Its publisher was Anastas Byku. The newspaper was dedicated to the fight for the Albanian language and culture. This was the official organ in the Turkish language of the province of Shkodra, published every week in 1879, and a year later, it was put at the service of the League of Prizren (1879).
